DVM/MPH WITH A FOCUS IN VETERINARY PUBLIC HEALTH

Online DVM/MPH Program at the University of Minnesota

If you are curious about or considering public health as part of your veterinary career, come join us Tuesday, September 26th to learn about the DVM/MPH program at the University of Minnesota.

This CEPH-accredited MPH program is predominantly online and is accessible to veterinary students at AVMA-accredited institutions. The University of Minnesota has far-reaching connections and well-established partnerships around the world and is highly regarded in the veterinary public health profession.

To date, eight Cornell DVM students have completed their MPH through this program; there are 17 active MPH students who are either current Cornell DVM students or Cornell DVM alumni.

Larissa Minicucci (DVM, ’00, Cornell) and Sarah Summerbell from the University of Minnesota will be on campus to meet with current DVM/MPH and any interested students on Tuesday, September 26. Stop by S1-108 Schurman between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. for drop-in office hours.

The office hours are a good time for those of you who are weighing the differences between this program and the Public Health/One Health MPH degree that Cornell is offering to meet and learn about things specific to the U of M program such as:

·  Admissions requirements and timing

·  Degree requirements

·  Program cost

·  Project options

·  Field experiences

·  Any other MPH-related questions

Click here for more information about Minnesota's DVM/MPH program:

http://www.sph.umn.edu/academics/dual-joint-degrees/veterinary-medicine/

All students – both prospective and current – are invited to attend dinner at 5:00 p.m. in Lecture Hall 1.

During this time, Minnesota MPH Education Specialists will go over:

  • Program structure

  • Similarities and differences with Cornell's new Public Health/One Health MPH

  • Cornell transfer courses that satisfy both the DVM and MPH requirements

  • How to complete your MPH at the same time as your DVM

  • Online and in-person course requirements

  • Application process and timeline

  • Tuition and costs

  • Alumni and careers

Please RSVP, for catering purposes, using this google form by September 20.
